The test: Replace standard flat-lay or packaging photography on your hero image slot with close-up texture imagery, application footage, or video showing how the product feels, spreads, and absorbs. Measure RPV and add-to-cart rate against your current gallery.

Placement matters more than most brands expect. The difference between "results" content living in your image gallery at position two versus in a section below the fold can be the difference between a shopper who sees it and one who doesn't.

Why it matters: Most skincare brands display trust badges inconsistently. Some are below the fold. Some are in the footer. Some are styled as small icons that don't register visually. The result is that a shopper's most basic questions about product safety, clinical validation, and brand credibility remain unresolved at the point of purchase.
The hierarchy matters, too. Not all trust signals carry equal weight. For a clean beauty brand, EWG Verified likely outranks "dermatologist-tested."
